WELCOME TO 4TH GRADE AT UNIVERSITY ACADEMY

 

My name is Mrs. Amber Sahr and this is my 4th year at University Academy teaching 4th grade and my 15th year in the education field.  I was born and raised in Pittsburg, Kansas and received my Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Pittsburg State University.  Last December I obtained my masters degree in Literacy Education from University of Central Missouri.  I am a Missouri Master Teacher Academy graduate and a 2018 Fund For Teachers recipient where I was chosen to attend the Teachers College at Columbia University in New York City, NY to study under Lucy Calkins and her Units of Study for reading.

I enjoy anything outdoors, especially around water, and watching my son play football for Avila University.  

My husband, son, and I have lived in the Kansas City, Mo area for 13 years now with our 2 fur babies, Riley and Tulsa.
